Four Pride plants and cultivates pongamia, a leguminous tree, mainly in Southeast Asia, in order to reduce GHG emissions, improve soil fertility, and make effective use of degraded land. Our goal is to contribute to the improvement of the global environment for a long time to come, establishing a sustainable cycle of business through the manufacture and supply of fuel oil, feedstuff, wood pellets and other products from the harvest.

“One of the most sought after decarbonization projects of our time” – this is what we believe our biomass projects with pongamia to be. It is of foremost importance to address environmental issues, starting with GHG reduction, but it is also necessary to generate decent returns necessary to expand and sustain such activities. Pongamia trees are still not widely recognized by the public, but they have the potential to become a true environmentally sustainable business, with increasing demand for use in various applications, including for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Shinsuke TOGAWA
Founder / Leader
He has 40 years of experience in the shipping industry since joining Koyo Kaiun Co., Ltd. (Tokyo) in 1982 as a new graduate. He founded Bay Crest Management Pte Ltd in Singapore in 2013, and in 2019 established the J/V company Golden Stena Baycrest (GSB) Tankers Pte Ltd with Swedish and Singaporean partners, where he served as Managing Director until 2023. Upon his departure from GSB Tankers, he embarked on the pongamia plantation project which he believes will contribute to the global environment, as his aspiration for the better future.
Aileen TAN
Partner
She has 30 years of experience in the shipping and offshore industry. Currently she is the CEO of the Blue Ocean group which comprises of investments in the shipping sector as well as providing consultancy services including financing. She is also sitting on the board of Golden Stena Baycrest (GSB) Tankers Pte Ltd, as well as Bay Crest Management Pte Ltd. She was previously on the board of ENETI, a NY-listed windmill installation vessels company. She joined Four Pride since 2024.
Takashi MARUYAMA
Project Management
Since joining a shipping company in 1995 as a new graduate, he has been engaged in shipping operations related to chemicals, crude oil, petroleum products, and LNG. After working for a shipping broker and a general trading firm in Singapore and Tokyo, he joined the establishment of Four Pride Japan in 2023, and assumed his current position.
Kentaro AYAI
Corporate Management
He worked for Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) and its subsidiaries for 36 years, mainly in the corporate sector, including finance, corporate planning, and as Head of Investor Relations. After serving as General Manager of Corporate Communications of MOL and Director of MOL Chemical Tankers, he joined Four Pride in 2023.

Licensed arborist since 2001, and a member of the editorial board of the Society of Arborists and the Tree Health Research Society Japan. She has provided tree diagnosis and treatment services for government offices, private companies, and private residences. Appeared in the media in various occasions on forest conservation. Advisor for Four Pride since March 2024.
